Would a 'High" last longer smoking from
a pipe or injecting from a needle? My husband is an addict; has been abstinent for almost a year now. But honestly, his recent behavior makes me wonder if he's still clean-- or not. So my question is this: Would his high last longer with the needle or the pipe? I'd like some opinions on this, seriously.

needle? The needle wears off quicker I think. Its a immediate ingestion of all of the drug, when smoking it takes time to enter your system. I could be wrong, But that's my opinion.

needle? Hmmm, well, maybe a better question would be this....... How long does a meth high usually last? I mean, if you smoke (or shoot up) ONCE versus using more as soon as the jonesing begins?

needle? For me... about a couple hours on the needle. Smoking.... depended on the dope, but 3 or 4 hours But.. If I had dope... I'd smoke it more frequent

needle? My high lasted a lot longer with the needle too. Especially with Meth. I probably slammed a 20 sack the last time I fixed and I was high for a very long time. I snorted crank and smoked ice. All in all, I have to say the high with the needle lasted longer. YUCKY memories. What makes you think he's slamming??? Finding evidence? Hope all goes well with your situation. Much peace,

needle? The method of ingestion (iv - instantly enters blood stream vs. smoking - <1 min) does not have a significant impact on the duration that the drug is active in your system. The amount used, however, does. The body has limited resources to break down meth. At some point, it will take longer to break it down when there is just too much of it to attack at once. The high felt from methamphetamine is felt due to the chemical itself, and the amount ingested. The route of administration only effects the euphoric rush which is felt most strongly with IV use (instant rush), and least with digesting by eating (no rush, slow overall good feeling). I suspect that for those who felt IV use caused a LONGER high, that they were comparing it to a lower dose of smoking or snorting.

needle? The spoons are all missing........... And when he locks up in the bathroom I don't hear the repeated clicking of a lighter, but just a single click......... He doesn't lock himself in there all the time like he used to do when he was smoking it, and he doesn't "seem" high for as long. Like now he's not up all night, just till later than normal, then (when he's out) it's out cold till morning. Could be that I'm jumping to conclusions here, but something's just not right. For the record, I thought the high lasted a whole lot longer than a few hours in any case. Guess it might vary from person to person. Or maybe he was just using more every time the effects started to wear off???

needle? He has an older sister and a younger brother that are both IV meth users, so I sort of knew what to look for. So the missing spoons were an immediate red flag! His sister's two youngest kids were taken away by CPS not too awful long ago.......his brother still has custody of his kids, though- mostly because the mom is clean. He knows better than this!!!!!

needle? have you looked at his arm's lately? And yes look under sink or even behind toilet or under towels. I used to hid my spoon from myself and get mad when I could not find it. |
