What is the cost of an 8-ball?

Just got done balancing BF's check book and noticied A LOT of ATM withdrawls. Now I'm not saying it all went to buy his drugs BUT I'm just wondering how much the stuff usually costs? He had a lot of $40 and $60 withdraw's and a cpl 100 too. Is that how much this sh*t costs every time? and what is an 8-ball? I have heard that term before, what does it mean? and how much do those cost? Sorry, I'm just wondering today..thnks all!!

My son would always ask to borrow 60.00. I don't know how much that buys.

He don't ask me anymore because he knows I will not give him money.

An eight ball is 1/8 of an ounce. It weighs 3.5 grams. It usually sells for 175.00 or so. Grams sell for 100.00, 1/2 grams for 50, quarter grams for 25.00. Last time I used that was the going rate in Texas.

Well, in my State, the prices are as follows:
1/4 gm. =$50
1/2 gm. =$100
1 gm. =$200
a "ball" is an 1/8 of an ounce
There are 3.5 gm. per "ball", but most dealers will give a discount of $20-$50 for buying in quantity.

No more lies, you can get a quarter gram here for $25, half gram for $50, gram for $100 and an 8-ball for $300.
An 8 ball is 3 and 1/2 grams best I remember. Not sure there as it has been over 10 years since I bought an 8 ball.
When my husband had his "relapse" for lack of a better word, he had written 2 checks for 20 each on the same day for 2 weeks straight - there's that 40.
The money he lied about was $80.
I use the relapse lightly because in my mind, you have to be in recovery to relapse.
he isn't in recovery- abstinence is not recovery.It is just not using for that moment- even if it lasts for 8 months.
My husband spaces his out so a quarter will last him a week-for awhile anyway. That is his just smoking a foil a day.
Inevitably the use amount goes up.

Bob, towards the end of my using I could snort a quarter in one line. I used about 1/2 per day. That is not a good sign. Any is too much for me. When I was using they didn't make enough of the stuff. I have been clean a year and two months now.

And I do have boundaries - the way I see it if you have someplace else to "sleep" at night then you don't need to stay here then do you?
I'm greedy and mean that way - I don't share and I don't play well with others.
He likes my biscuits and gravy too much to leave his comfort zone-for now.
The 1/4 gram is now- his "relapse".
I truly don't know how much he was using before.
Enough that he had a truck repo-ed when the payments were only $100 a month.
He's a very talented mechanic- he makes $100 just bullshitting around.
So why did he lose his truck? Out of a year, he may have made 3 payments - maybe?
I'm sure it was much more than the quarter he told me it was.

Just that "little" he did that 2 weeks was enough - if he keeps using ,it will kill him.
His coloring, his breathing, everything Bob- he looked dead to me. His sons said the same.
The things he did at 23 don't work well with the 43.

Funny how quickly it went from being a quarter gram for the weekend to 8ball to even that wasn't enough.
I am so thankful that I lived in booneyville way back when were it did dry up and there wasn't any to be found.
It scares me to think where I would have ended up if it hadn't.
It never crossed my mind I was addicted.
Not even once.
And hell, even if it had, there was no place to go for help- not for me.
Wasn't any home computers and definitely no ads on TV.
I am so thankful and so blessed- there but by the grace of God go I...............

So Bob why are you using? I'm just curious; What5 do you feel you get out of it? Are you using it for work, cleaning , sex, play or what? What benefits do you get from using it. I'm just curious wat keeps you coming back for more? I'm not judging just tryin to understand whats goin on with you... please help me to understand you.

How do you afford it?
My husband grosses less than that a year.
His salary feeds 6 people every day,20 plus people 52 times,paid school lunches,doctor bills, car payment,utilities,trip to the county fair,many many plants,clothes, hair cuts,shoes,paint for bedroom ,living room, and kitchen, living room furniture,new furnace,refrigerator,birthday presents,Christmas presents,new bike for son, new bike for grandson,fireworks for the 4th of July,choir dues,yearbooks, school pictures,and the list goes on.

That is a lot of money just to hand somebody to get junk to destroy yourself with.

I think it's like this. an addict will use as much meth as he or she can. Not immediatly but eventually your tolerance can build to ridiculous levels.

I used to sell people 8balls for $110-$150. When I first started using dope I would make a gram (that I was paying $100 for at the time) last for a week between three people.

By the end of my addiction I never felt high anymore. I was never sober so I forgot that I was high. I used as much as a ball in a day a few days. Usually it was more like 2 grams though. I look back at it all and yeah, I wonder how I afforded my habit sometimes. The way I afforded it though was I was selling a quarter pound every two days and was just using my profits for the most part. well, that and I was paying for gas for my car and paying for places to stay every night with dope.

I guess my point is this though. It doesnt matter how much you use in some ways, all that matters is that you use. Its possible to use *alot* or not much at all and either way you can be paying the same ammount. As you can see from Bob's post you can pay as much as $200 for a gram, or in my case you could be paying $25 for a gram. I depends on where you live and it depends on who you know.

At some point I realized I always paid about the same amount for dope throughout my addiction.. how much did I spend? Everything I could afford to. The numbers dont matter much in some ways.
