Sex / Erection after using Meth

sillyveronica Sex / Erection After Meth
I always hate posting these "sex" questions on here, but not sure where else to find the answers.

BF would have the typical sex for hours when he was using. Now that he's clean, he can get an erection but he has a very hard time keeping it. It goes soft after just a short while and takes a lot to get hard again.

Is this normal? Does it go away on its own? He's convinced he has a problem outside of the meth (he's 35) and says he wants to see a doctor about getting Cialis. I would prefer he have nothing in his system and think it will resolve on its own.

Anyone?

how long has he been clean?

when I do have sex with mine, he takes less than 10 minutes. he is a meth user who once again is back on the needle. maybe it's because he's always jacking off to porn, or maybe he's got something better on the side... I give up

He's been clean since just before Christmas.

I think he's just used to performing while high and that maybe he needs awhile to readjust to what sex is like w/out being high. But who am I to say.

I too would like to know about the erection thing..My boyfriend has been off the meth(IV) since Sept. BUt of late has been having trouble with keeping an erection. Is there permanent blood vessel damage from meth use??

paceset Re: erection
I found some great medical information on the website regarding the myths about meth and sex-the physical tole it takes on the body as a whole as well as the psycholocal are huge. From what I have heard also from some male addicts is that all the guys have that holding an erection problem after a while of use-many of the female addicts I have talked to have mentioned the "crummy" sex with other addicts...I am starting to believe that perhaps the "great sex for guys on meth" is just a meth induced delusion....or maybe some men just have those kinds of side effects but regardless, the statistics show that meth destroys just about every normalfunctin in the body eventually.

I also think he just needs some adjustment time. He's going through a lot. Make sure he knows you don't think any less of him because of the erection thing. He's probably depressed and insecure right now.

Katie - Totally agree ... and I've said over and over again that it's not an issue, things from my perspective are still great, he thinks it's worse than it is, etc. He was insecure to start out with, and this has just made it ten times worse.

I just didn't know whether this was something that would/could go away on its own ... or whether it's an actual medical condition that needs to be addressed with a doctor.

The problems you mentioned usually decrease with time. A healthier male will have fewer problems than one who has constant health problems. A good heart, a strong heart muscle, good blood circulation and good attitudes do wonders for a guy's sex life.

Things like vigorous aerobic exercise, healthy diet, proper sleep, and good living will increase a man's cardiovascular health. That in turn, will do wonders to facilitate supplying enough blood to Mr. Happy at the appropriate time.
