How long does it stay like this?? I am curious as to how long the 'side effects' of meth stay with you.. ex. dilated pupils, decreased fatigue, ect.. For example.. if a person who had only done meth a couple of times and all of these times were spaced apart by a recognizable amount of time.. does 4 lines.. how long will the person continue to have the side effects? Can anyone give me a guesstimate?

Re: RE: what's the problem exactly.. ...it's different for everyone. are they grinding their teeth? ....or irritable? ....still jacking off? what? you got to give us enough info to answer the question properly.

RE: Hallucinations and hearing things at night.. that aren't really there.. being really paranoid, having the body kind of 'jerk' and move around alot when I am trying to lay down or be still...(yeah, my 'friend' was me) I was just sure that by now all of the symptoms from meth use would be gone now.. and they aren't.. they aren't as bad as they were yesterday, but pupils are still heavily dilated, and it's extremely hard to be around people who aren't using... I've used before but I've always been with my cousin and she would be using with me.. we snorted together but then she had to go back to her house which is in a different state.. Last night was absolutely horrible, I have never experienced anything like it before, shadows became things that they weren't.. even simple objects became things that they weren't..and I could hear voices that weren't really there.. This morning sitting in my brothers room I look outside his door and thought I saw a person standing in the shadows... I just don't want to feel this way anymore. I want to be 'off' my high right now.. I have enough for like 3 more lines.. and I don't think I'm going to do them... it really scared me last night! |

Re: RE: Meth Side Effects Methamphetamine is a stimulant drug chemically related to amphetamine but with stronger effects on the central nervous system. Street names for the drug include "speed," "meth," "crystal," and "crank." Methamphetamine is used in pill form, or in powdered form by snorting or injecting. Crystallized methamphetamine known as "ice," "crystal," or "glass," is a smokable and more powerful form of the drug. Methamphetamine use has spread to all areas of the United States and continues to be on an upswing. Estimates from the Drug Abuse Warning Network (DAWN) indicate that methamphetamine-related emergency room episodes increased 346 percent from 1991 to 1995. Physiological effects of methamphetamine use include: Abnormally high blood pressure; rapid and irregular heart rate and rhythm; seizures; damage to blood vessels in the brain (stroke); accumulation of excess fluid in lungs, brain tissue and skull; continuous/excessive dilation of the pupils; impaired regulation of heat loss; Hyperpyrexia (body temperatures higher than 104°); internal bleeding; damage to other organs caused by disruption of blood flow; and breakdown of muscle tissue, leading to kidney failure. Similar to other drug substances, smoking and inhaling meth damages the lungs and nasal passages, and intravenous use can lead to spread of the AIDS virus. Meth side effects include but are not limited to: Hyperactivity Irritability Visual hallucinations Auditory hallucinations (hearing "voices") Suicidal tendencies Aggression Suspiciousness, severe paranoia Shortness of breath Increased blood pressure Cardiac arrhythmia Stroke Sweating Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea Long periods of sleep ("crashing" for 24-48 hours or more) Prolonged sluggishness, severe depression Weight loss, malnutrition, anorexia Itching (illusion that bugs are crawling on the skin) Welts on the skin Involuntary body movements Paranoid delusions |

RE: I know all of the effects.. I've been around all kinds of drugs for as long as I can remember.. what I don't know is how long all this stays.. No one can give me a little bit of an estimate? You have previously used before but it had been a year or a little over a year since you had. You snort 4 lines.. does anyone know how long or have an estimate as to how long the side effects will stay around? Also, this time when I used, I did not get the sense of euphoria at all..

Re: RE: Are you asking how long does it stays in your system?
|
| breannasage |
RE: We didn't snort all four lines at a time either.. it was done over a period of time.. Last night I also had some suicidal thoughts.. which kind of freaks me out.. I've never ever ever had any of the kind of.. extreme paranoia, sucidal thoughts, hallucinations, or hearing things that weren't there when I used..

Re: RE: Keep in mind everyone metabolizes at a different rate. It's a hard question to answer. Some people can drink four beers and be s h i t face, others can drink a case and not feel it.
|
| breannasage |
RE: Well, yea kind of.. but I know that that differs from person to person.. and I'm really not concerned about how long its in my system.. I just want to know how much longer I should expect to feel this way..

Re: RE; Okay, well those symptoms you describe, lasted about 4-5 days after i quit from a 9 year run with meth. If they last longer than a week, get yourself checked out by a psychiatrist. Meth has a tendency to bring out the psycho in us

Re: RE; You are deciding how bad this is gonna be. ......you can say @#%$! or you can listen to the beatles and chill out. if you can force a smile.. ....you'll be amazed at how well it works. put a comedy on tv. ....think happy thoughts. I'm a major big league drug addict. ....that's what worked for me. when I wanted more dope...or felt unbalanced, my friends and I would try our assses off to laugh. if you can do that. .....at least you'll die with a smile on your face. take it easy. you are making it harder than it has to be.

Re: RE; it depends on how big the lines are,and your size as well as what exactly was in the mix,it could go for a few days even a week, try flushing yourself out with alot of water, and eat.

Re: RE; Have you flush what's left of it yet5...i sure hope so
|
| breannasage |
RE: Thanks everyone for answering my question first of all.. No, I haven't flushed the rest of it.. I'm going to have to work up some courage to do that... and I'm not a very courageous person...
|

Re: RE: breannasage, You said that you are going to have to work up the courage to flush the bag right? How much courage does it take to be a slave to the bag? I hope that you flush it. I really do. Just look at it and think how panicked you were feeling when you first came here asking your question think about that and flush it. Rachel |
